RNLI Lifeboats Escort Lost Vessel to Safety

The Skegness Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) lifeboat, Lincolnshire Poacher, launched last night (Sunday) to search for a motor yacht lost somewhere to the north of the wind farms off the coast of Lincolnshire.
The 48ft vessel Bessie was on passage from Calais to Goole with two crew on board when they contacted Yarmouth Coastguard for assistance at about 7:45pm.
Skegness lifeboat launched just after 8pm and an hour later had located the casualty, just off Sutton-on-Sea. Two volunteer lifeboat crew members were transferred to the vessel and the lifeboat escorted her north towards the Humber, making slow progress at about 5 knots.
Humber RNLI lifeboat launched to take over the escort into Grimsby, and the Skegness lifeboat and her crew returned home, hitting the beach at 11:45pm.
